Blackwood, also the director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum since June 2000, will now oversee both organizations.

In his new role, Blackwood will lead the Reagan Foundation staff, who work to preserve the legacy of President Reagan through conferences, speaker series, special exhibitions and fund-raising support.

The library houses more than 55 million pages of government documents and personal papers and the museum is home to more than 100,000 artifacts artifacts

Reagan's birthday to be celebrated

Former President Ronald Reagan turns 93 in two weeks and his wife Nancy is planning a quiet evening at home for the nation's longest living former president, a recluse in Bel-Air as he battles Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. .

Early in the day on Feb. 6, Nancy Reagan plans to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to unveil the cornerstone of the new Air Force One Pavilion. The presidential plane, already on site, will be displayed when the pavilion opens in spring 2005.

After the 15-minute cornerstone ceremony, which is open to the public, birthday cake will be served to guests, who can also sign birthday cards that will be sent to the Reagan home.

On Oct. 11, 2001, Reagan eclipsed John Adams There have been several notable people called John Adam:
