Toilet paper theft takes serious turn

PALMDALE - A man and woman tried to run down a supermarket employee Wednesday after stealing a 24-roll pack of toilet paper, deputies said.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding the pair, who stole the toilet paper and ran out of the Food 4 Less market in the 2300 block of East Avenue S about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday.

An employee chased them into the parking lot, but they climbed into a truck and locked the doors. As the driver was pulling out, he attempted to run down the employee, who jumped out of the way and was not struck.
