Foundation forced to postpone event SIMI VALLEY - A fund-raiser for a newly formed education fund that will provide local students with university scholarships has been rescheduled for Dec. 19 because of the Simi Valley Fire. The fund-raiser by the Simi Valley Education Foundation and Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California. Foundation at Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley had to be delayed after the fire destroyed the bridges that connect the fairways along the 240-acre course. The Dec. 19 tournament will begin at 9 a.m. The day will end with a barbecue and silent auction at 3 p.m. Individual VIP golfer registration is $150. Tee sign advertisements are $100. Proceeds will be divided equally between the two educational foundations. Officials say they expect to raise $20,000.
