Bigotry blamed in shooting case

A 19-year-old man was critically wounded outside a Silver Lake restaurant, and police Wednesday were classifying the shooting as a hate crime.

The victim, who was shot at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after a dispute with a man and woman at Chano's Restaurant in the 3800 block of West Beverly Boulevard, police said.

Ventura County to vote on road tax

VENTURA - Ventura County voters will decide whether to increase the sales tax a half-cent to pay for roadway improvements.
