The proposed ordinance would continue the city employees' fringe benefits fringe benefits,

No bail for man in kiddy porn case

SANTA ANA - A federal magistrate denied bail today to a Santa Ana Heights man accused of possessing more than 100,000 child porn images, a prosecutor said.

U.S. Magistrate Arthur Nakazato found that John Maurice Aldrich, 61, would present a flight risk if released pending trial, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Lee.

Lee argued that Aldrich, who could face up to five years behind bars if convicted, ``didn't have sufficient ties to Orange County, and he is unemployed,'' but that he ``had a little money on him'' that he could use to flee.

Nakazato set post-indictment arraignment A criminal proceeding at which the defendant is officially called before a court of competent jurisdiction, informed of the offense charged in the complaint, information, indictment, or other charging document, and asked to enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or as otherwise permitted  for April 7.
