BRIEFLY ONE MAN ARRESTED IN BOY'S SLAYING.


Police said Friday they arrested a man in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy who was wounded by suspected gang members as he rode his bicycle, then shot 19 more times as he begged for his life.

The man was arrested Thursday night for investigation of murder but his identity was not immediately released, police spokesman Jason Lee said.

At least one more suspect was being sought, he said.

Judge dismisses county seal suit

Cardenas wants Arnold's apology

Day made director of commission

Bartender enters new plea in crash

VENTURA - A bartender pleaded no contest to manslaughter in a drunk driving crash last Thanksgiving that killed three of his friends.

Ex-actor to stand trial in shootings

SIMI VALLEY - A 75-year-old former actor who appeared in TV Westerns will stand trial on murder and attempted murder charges in July shootings at a Simi Valley bar.

At a preliminary hearing this week in Ventura, Robert Sorrells was shown on a surveillance video shooting two men at the Regency Lounge.

One man died; the other was wounded in the bar incident.

``The judge found substantial evidence to support the case,'' said prosecutor Chris Harman.

Sorrells was featured in shows and movies dating back to the 1950s.
