BRIEFLY OFFICERS AID TRIO, PETS DURING FIRE.


RESEDA - Two Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police officers helped three women, three dogs and two cats out of a burning house Friday in the 17000 block of Duncan Street.

Officers Brad Kolfschoten, 31, and Fidencio Pina, 29, were making a traffic stop when a woman told them a nearby house was on fire, said Los Angeles police Sgt. John Pasquariello.

One officer helped the women get their pets, while the other attacked the blaze with a garden hose, he said.

Owner of 60 cats will be arraigned

CANOGA PARK - The owner of a Canoga Park cat rescue center is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on felony animal cruelty charges filed after county officials found 60 cats living at her Dayton Canyon mobile home.

Margaret Weems, 57, owner of Angel Puss and Pooch Rescue in Canoga Park and Eagle Rock, is also the subject of a city animal control investigation, a Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control officials said.

Deputies cleared in fatal shooting

Council declines to support school

Black college fair to open at center

Representatives from more than 50 historically African-American colleges, universities and academic organizations will participate in a daylong college fair today at the Los Angeles Convention Center The Los Angeles Convention Center (abbreviated LACC) is a convention center in downtown Los Angeles. The LACC hosts annual events such as the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, and was best known to video games fans as host to E3 until its cessation in 2006. .
