When the band started in Eugene it was called the CoStars, and its lead songwriter was named Sassy Fuchs. Too many other bands had the name CoStars, so they changed that.

The band has been around for more than four years, but it seems the time leading up to this recording has been rough on these folks. They might have taken that as an excuse to write some sad music, but they have chosen the path of joyful rocking instead.

Blues band plays free show at Diablo's
Michael Tracey and the Hi-Tones are playing a free show Saturday at Diablo's/Downtown Lounge.
Many members of the high energy blues band have their talents on display every Wednesday during the club's free blues jams. Tracey's band recently has released a CD called "Got to Get Away."
A news release says the band covers a lot of ground during its shows, going from rock to funk to soul and R&B, all while remaining a blues band at the core.
Band leader Tracey writes original songs, sings them and plays harmonica harmonica.
