PALMDALE - Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  mayoral candidate Antonio Villaraigosa Antonio Ramon Villaraigosa (born Antonio (Tony) Ramon Villar, Jr. on January 23, 1953) is the mayor of Los Angeles, California. He is the first Latino mayor of Los Angeles since Cristobal Aguilar in 1872.  will serve as installing officer and keynote speaker at the Democratic Club of the High Desert's installation banquet on Sunday at the Holiday Inn.

Outgoing President An outgoing president is a president or, generally, other head of state or government when he holds office between the election of his successor and the inauguration by which that successor assumes power.  Robert Alvarado will be honored for his 3 1/2 years of service to the Democratic Club of the High Desert, whose membership rolls and fiscal capabilities have swelled under Alvarado's leadership.

District will accept transfer requests

PALMDALE - The Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

The Palmdale School District was first formed in 1888. Approximately 28,000 students are enrolled in the Palmdale School District.
 will hold open enrollment for parents who want to enroll their children in a school that is not in their attendance area.

Applications for transfer requests to schools of choice will be accepted from March 26 through April 13 for the 2001-02 school year.
