BRIEFLY MASKED THIEVES PUSH, ROB WOMAN.


BURBANK - A couple was robbed at gunpoint on Halloween night by three people dressed for trick-or-treating, officials said Friday.

About 10 p.m., a woman living in the 500 block of North Myers Street answered the doorbell with a bag of candy and was confronted by three people wearing skeleton and fencing masks, police said. One of the robbers pushed the woman down, and the others forced their way into the house and demanded cash.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police Sgt. Frank Reilman at (818) 238-3342.

Applicants sought for 2 committees

GLENDALE - The city is seeking volunteers to serve on two committees that will help plan commemorative and cultural events in the city.

The annual commemorative event committee will develop options to commemorate the Armenian Genocide Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism.  and crimes against humanity.

The second committee, called Unity Day/Cultural Heritage Committee, will develop plans for an annual cultural festival.

Port security zone will stay until May

SAN PEDRO - A security zone will be in effect around cruise ships This is a list of cruise ships, both those in service and those that have since ceased to operate. (Ocean liners are not included on this list, see List of ocean liners.  in the Port of Los Angeles The Port of Los Angeles is located on San Pedro Bay in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 20 miles (30 km) south of downtown. Also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA  and those anchored at Catalina Island Catalina Island: see Santa Catalina.  until May 1, the U.S. Coast Guard said Thursday.

Boats and individuals must stay at least 100 yards from a cruise ship in the port or while it is anchored at Catalina Island.

, will be partially closed in both directions at night from Sunday through Thursday for construction work, officials said.

One lane in each direction will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and a second additional lane will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
