The woman survived the shooting and was hospitalized Sunday, officials said.

The 57-year-old man from Valley Glen and his 37-year-old wife were living together as they went through a divorce. Police believe an argument developed over a failed reconciliation.

Police who were called to the scene heard screaming inside the house and saw the man drag the woman into a bathroom where shots were fired, authorities said.

When the officers entered the bathroom, they found both the man and woman had gunshot wounds in the upper chest.

The man and wife were taken to a local hospital where the man was pronounced dead.
