BRIEFLY MAN WOUNDS WIFE, FATALLY SHOOTS SELF.VAN NUYS - A man apparently shot his wife then fatally shot himself late Saturday night at their home in the 5800 block of Cantaloupe cantaloupe: see gourd; melon. Avenue, police said. The woman survived the shooting and was hospitalized Sunday, officials said. The 57-year-old man from Valley Glen and his 37-year-old wife were living together as they went through a divorce. Police believe an argument developed over a failed reconciliation. Police who were called to the scene heard screaming inside the house and saw the man drag the woman into a bathroom where shots were fired, authorities said. When the officers entered the bathroom, they found both the man and woman had gunshot wounds in the upper chest.
