Officials seeking sex crime victims

WESTLAKE VILLAGE - Police are seeking possible victims of unreported sex crimes dating to 1990 following the arrest of a church youth director on suspicion of lewd acts with a child, authorities said.

Timothy Bayne Bernstein, 40, pleaded not guilty earlier this week. He has been placed on leave from his position as a youth director at Calvary Community Church, authorities said.

MALIBU - An ocean search prompted by a report of a possible plane crash was called off Friday because nothing was found and no aircraft were reported missing, the Coast Guard said.

The search began Thursday when the pilot of a commuter plane reported that a plane may have gone down east of Point Dume.
