BRIEFLY MAN IN STREET HIT, KILLED BY WAGON.

A Simi Valley man kneeling in a residential street taking photos of his car was struck and killed by a station wagon in Lancaster, authorities said Sunday.

Katsumi Lutz, 33, was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital by ambulance after the 7:29 p.m. Saturday incident on Avenue K-2 near 16th Street West and died there, officials said. Coroner and sheriff's officials on Sunday were unable to say why he had been photographing his car.

Lutz was hit by a 1990 Ford Taurus, whose driver's vision might have been impaired by the setting sun, deputies said. Sheriff's traffic deputies are investigating the accident.

``Arthritis and related diseases affect 70 million Americans,'' she said.

It was the second annual walk in Los Angeles, and it drew five times as many people as last year. ``We're hoping this event will grow with the years,'' Reeve said.
