BRIEFLY MAN FOUND GUILTY OF MURDERS AGAIN.


WEST HILLS - A man who masterminded the 1998 killings of two witnesses against him in a burglary case was convicted of murder Wednesday, nearly two years after a guilty verdict was thrown out because of evidence tampering.

Police said Navaroli and Mahoney were returning to their home in the 23000 block of Ingomar Street in West Hills, about to get out of a car in their driveway, when a gunman approached and opened fire.

Navaroli died at the scene, and Mahoney died a few weeks later on Christmas Eve.

Richman to take questions on TV

Assemblyman Keith Richman, R-Granada Hills, will be the guest on a live cable public-affairs program Saturday.

Richman, the top vote-getter in the race for San Fernando Valley mayor last November, currently serves as chairman of the Valley Group, which includes many of the former Valley candidates and other activists. He will be interviewed by Frank Sheftel, who also ran in the secession election and who serves as the Valley Group's spokesman.

College president sorry about letters
