 for a motorist who exposed himself to two 10-year-old girls in separate incidents.

The man approached the first girl about 12:50 p.m. Thursday Thursday: see week.  at Fitzgerald Road and Brandon Avenue, Simi Valley police Sgt. Dave Livingstone said.

The second girl was approached about 10 minutes later at Fitzgerald and Whitcomb Avenue, about a block away, he said. The man did not get out of his vehicle, and neither girl was physically harmed, he said.

District to hold open enrollment

Parents can apply beginning Monday to transfer their children to another school in the Los Angeles Unified School District The Los Angeles Unified School District (the "LAUSD") is the largest (in terms of number of students) public school system in California and the second-largest in the United States. Only the New York City Department of Education has a larger student population.  under the district's open-enrollment policy.

About 5,300 seats are expected to be up for grabs at 111 schools.

Applications, due May 24, are available at www.lausd.net along with a list of schools with available seats. For more information, call the LAUSD Office of School Management Services at (213) 241-6414.

Protest planned outside landfill

Two questioned in fatal shooting

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Two men were being questioned Friday night in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man and the attempted slaying of a second man outside a grocery story.

Richard Ybarra - along with the other victim, who suffered critical injuries - was shot Wednesday in the parking lot of the store in the 12700 block of Sherman Way around 8:40 p.m.
