CANYON COUNTRY - A man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend as she carried their infant daughter in a car seat Wednesday, then turned the gun on himself, authorities said.

A sheriff's deputy responded to a domestic disturbance call at about 12:15 p.m. and heard several gunshots as he pulled up to the apartment complex in the 18400 block of Jake's Way, just east of Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling .

The deputy discovered a man and woman lying in an outdoor corridor that separates two apartment buildings. The woman had been shot at least three times in the back, and the man, believed to be the father of the month-old infant, had a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

Two boys, ages 9 and 5, were found in the upstairs apartment and taken to the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  sheriff's station.

Man shot walking on Burbank street

BURBANK - A man was shot multiple times while walking on a Burbank street Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital, and no information was available about his condition, Burbank police Lt. John Dilibert said.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. on Burbank Boulevard near Evergreen Avenue. No arrests were made.

Mountain lions have quadruplets

The pumas met last May in the dry hills, and now P-1 and P-2, as they are known, have a litter of four kittens. Both adults wear radio collars that allow a National Park Service team to keep tabs on their whereabouts.

Two weeks ago, the team found the litter through the mother's transmitter. The cubs are believed to have been born in late August, said Seth Riley, wildlife ecologist for the Park Service in the Santa Monicas.

2 people wounded in car shooting

SUN VALLEY - Two 19-year-olds were wounded early Wednesday in a car-to-car shooting, police said.

A man was shot through his side, and a woman was shot in the leg and hip about 2:40 a.m. at 10314 Stagg St., said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police Sgt. Mike O'Donnell of the North Hollywood Station.

The driver took the two wounded people to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center is a hospital in Burbank, California, USA. The hospital has 455 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. It's adress is: 501 S. Buena Vista St., Burbank, CA 91505. , O'Donnell said. Their names and conditions were withheld.

The gunman was in a black compact, he said.

Candidate jailed for disruption
