BRIEFLY LOOSE WHEEL KILLS DRIVER ON FREEWAY.


BURBANK - A driver was killed Saturday after a stray wheel from a cement truck careened into his car.

The driver, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was traveling northbound on the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Originally built as U.S. Highway 99, it was re-signed as Interstate 5 in 1964.  near Lincoln Boulevard The following streets are called Lincoln Boulevard:
  • Lincoln Boulevard (Oklahoma City), Oklahoma
  • Lincoln Boulevard (Southern California)
  • Lincoln Boulevard (Omaha), Nebraska

Man's body found in creek in forest

LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST Los Padres National Forest is a forest located in southern and central California, which includes most of the mountainous land along the California coast from Ventura to Monterey, extending inland. Elevations range from sea level to 8,831 feet.  - Authorities on Saturday said they were investigating the death of a man found face down in a creek in the forest north of Fillmore.

An overdue hiker rescued by authorities led police to the unidentified man, described as 30-40 years old, Caucasian, with a beard, long brown hair in a ponytail with a green windbreaker jacket.

Authorities believe he had been dead for several weeks. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Police arrested a man when a body was found wrapped in a mattress at his North Hollywood apartment.

Steven Patrick Seaton was arrested Saturday for investigation of murder and was being held without bail, Officer Guillermo Campos said. The victim's identity was not immediately released.

Seaton allegedly told a friend Friday morning that he had strangled stran·gle
