BRIEFLY LOCAL MAN GETS 21 YEARS IN JAIL.

PALMDALE - A Palmdale man convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the July 2001 shooting death of his estranged wife's boyfriend was sentenced Wednesday to 21 years in prison.

Fernando Carrillo, 27, was charged with killing Luis Jose Franco, 25, of Lancaster, who was found dead in an apartment in the 38700 block of 11th Street East. Carrillo was acquitted of murder.

Deputies were summoned to the apartment by Carrillo, who called the sheriff's station and said he had shot the victim during a dispute.
