BRIEFLY LEDFORD ENDORSES TWO CANDIDATES.


PALMDALE - Mayor Jim Ledford endorsed Steve Hofbauer for the City Council and Raul Figueroa for the Palmdale Water District board in the Nov. 4 election.

``It's because of both of their community involvement, long-term community involvement,'' Ledford said.

Figuroa led opposition to an apartment complex that resulted in reduction of apartment zoning in east Palmdale and was a backer of the city's recent parks bond, Ledford said.

CSEA represents more than 230,000 public employees in California.  Chapter 612, which represents Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
 employees, endorsed high school trustee Donita Winn in the Nov. 4 election.

``Donita Winn has worked tirelessly to support greater educational opportunities for students and improve working conditions at our schools,'' chapter President Dale Carson said in an announcement.

Chamber to host candidates forum

 Chamber of Commerce will host a Palmdale City Council candidates forum at noon Tuesday at the Antelope Valley Country Club, 39800 Country Club Drive.

The cost is $15.
