Los Angeles International Airport (IATA: LAX, ICAO: KLAX, FAA LID: LAX
 has forced closure of one lane in each direction through midnight tonight.

The closure will allow workers to modify the median in preparation for a six-week project to install girders, said Thomas Winfrey of Los Angeles World Airports Los Angeles World Airports or LAWA is the airport oversight and operations department for the city of Los Angeles, California.

Ex-court official accepts tax guilt

A former Los Angeles County court official pleaded no contest Friday to theft and guilty to a charge of state tax evasion The process whereby a person, through commission of Fraud, unlawfully pays less tax than the law mandates.

Tax evasion is a criminal offense under federal and state statutes. A person who is convicted is subject to a prison sentence, a fine, or both.

Rodney Paul Swanson, 48, of Woodland Hills initially pleaded not guilty to charges that he stole more than $1.9 million from various conservatorships and estates.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10.

Man, 75, drowned in apartment spa

SIMI VALLEY - A 75-year-old man drowned in a spa Thursday at an apartment complex on Country Club Drive, authorities said.
