BRIEFLY LAS VEGAS DRIVER KILLED IN SUV CRASH.


MOJAVE - A 43-year-old Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States.  man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he turned left in front of an oncoming pickup truck and his SUV was hit broadside, officials said.

 officers say Bandel, driving a Dodge Durango The Dodge Durango is an SUV from Chrysler's Dodge brand. It debuted in the 1998 model year and was redesigned for 2004. It fills the gap in the Dodge lineup since the cancellation of the Dodge Ramcharger in 1993. , was eastbound on Randsburg Cutoff Road east of Highway 58 when he attempted a left turn onto a dirt side road.

He apparently didn't notice the Ford F250 pickup, driven by Raymond Becker, 34, of Ridgecrest headed westbound on Randsburg.

The truck hit the SUV with such force that the Ford flipped over more than once. Officials say they were surprised Becker was not more severely injured.

Investigators say Bandel was at fault in the crash.
