BRIEFLY LAPD OFFICER DIES IN PATROL CAR CRASH.


A police officer responding to a call for backup assistance died Tuesday when the patrol car he was driving struck a light pole.

Another officer in the car suffered minor injuries in the 2:30 a.m. crash.

Ferraro makes brief return to City Hall

Reagan's kin turns himself in at court

SAN FERNANDO - Former President Reagan's grandson - wanted by authorities on a felony warrant - turned himself in at the San Fernando Court on Monday afternoon, officials said.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of 22-year-old Cameron Michael Reagan on suspicion of receiving stolen property and grand theft, said Officer Jason Lee, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

Cameron Reagan is the son of Michael Reagan, a talk-show host who is the former president's oldest son.

Cameron Reagan was taken into custody, booked at the LAPD's Devonshire Division and later released, officials said.
