VENTURA - A 24-year-old Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  man was arrested on suspicion of murder Wednesday, accused of being involved in the attack on a Ventura High School Ventura High School is a secondary school located in Ventura, California. It is a California Distinguished School which was founded in 1889.

Ryan Joseph Simas was being held in county jail without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today in connection with his role in the killing of Jesse Owen Martin Strobel.

Jose ``Pepe'' Castillo has already confessed to stabbing Strobel during a robbery attempt as the victim was walking home from his father's restaurant in Ventura.

Simas drove Castillo and two others - juveniles at the time - to and from the murder scene and also contributed to the attack, authorities said.

. ``He and the others saw Jesse walking up the street and decided to confront him for the purposes of robbery. Simas was involved in the physical attack and once it was over, drove the other suspects from the scene.''

Ventura police, with assistance from Los Angeles police arrested Simas 11 a.m. without incident at his residence.

He is expected to be prosecuted as a juvenile, police said.

Simi association OKs quake deal

The deal, signed Friday, calls for the Meadowbrook Homeowners Association to receive the payment as the final portion of State Farm's initial offer of $3.4 million in repair claims.

State Farm has already paid the association $2.25 million for repairs. State Farm's $235,000 in legal fees were added to that amount, leaving the remainder of the settlement at $926,000.
