Woman charged with niece's death

A North Hollywood woman was charged with murder Tuesday for allegedly beating her 4-year-old niece, whose body was taken to the North Hollywood police station Friday where paramedics pronounced her dead.

Maricela Arcelia Chavez, also known as Arcelia Chavez, pleaded not guilty in the alleged attack on Maria Isabel Cervantes, and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
