Woman hit by car expected to live

GLENDALE- A woman hit by a car and dragged 25 feet is expected to survive, police said Thursday.

Sofia Paylozyan-Wojtowicz, 56, of Glendale is in critical condition at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, but her injuries are not life- threatening, said Glendale Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

The Glendale woman walked out onto the street Wednesday in the 1300 block of East Maple when she was hit by a truck. She was attempting to cross the street midblock where there is no crosswalk.

``She's a very lucky woman to survive such an accident,'' Lorenz said.
