BRIEFLY JASON COLLINS SAYS HE'LL ENTER DRAFT.


Stanford center Jason Collins Jason Paul Collins (born December 2, 1978 in Northridge, California) is a professional basketball player for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA. He graduated from Harvard-Westlake School and later attended Stanford University, where he was an All-American in 2000-01 and appeared on  announced Monday that he will enter the NBA draft The NBA Draft is an annual North American event in which the National Basketball Association's (NBA) thirty teams (29 in the United States and one in Toronto, Canada) can select players who wish to join the league. . However, Collins will not hire an agent and left open the possibility of returning to school.

Collins, a junior from Harvard-Westlake, is scheduled to graduate in June but has two years of athletic eligibility remaining because of injuries early in his career.

Michael Schnyder of Glendale College and Mike Crawford of Valley College have signed letters of intent to play at Cal State Bakersfield. Schnyder, a 6-0 guard, was the Western State Conference most valuable player after averaging 18 points and 5.6 rebounds to lead the Vaqueros to the state tournament. Crawford, a Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  High graduate and 6-6 forward, was a two-time All-WSC selection.
