BRIEFLY HOTEL CLERK HURT IN LOBBY ROBBERY.PALMDALE - A robber punched a hotel clerk before fleeing with more than $700 in cash, sheriff's deputies said. The clerk, who suffered minor injuries, was struck even though he was complying with the robber's order to hand over the cash box, officials said. The robber entered the lobby of the Best Western Hotel in the 600 block of West Palmdale Boulevard about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Holding his hand inside his pocket as if he had a gun, the man ordered the clerk to hand over his cash.
