Most of the funds came from board members of Hollywood Voters Organized Toward Empowerment, including $70,000 from co-founder Gene LaPietra and $23,000 from co-founder Ferris Wehbe. Also Wednesday, two large donors to Mayor James Hahn's anti-secession campaign reported making donations totaling $30,000. The man, who smelled of alcohol, gagged and assaulted the victim, police said. The suspect was described as 20 to 30 years old, African-American, 5- foot-7 to 5-foot-10, with a stocky build and short to medium curly hair.
