Two San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
 communities will hold their annual holiday parades this weekend, with Pacoima's celebration set for Saturday and Chatsworth's parade scheduled for Sunday.

The Pacoima Christmas Parade runs from 9 to 11 a.m., with a holiday festival afterward until 3 p.m. More than 2,500 people are expected to attend the parade, which will go north along Van Nuys Boulevard from Amboy to Herrick avenues. The festival will take place at David Gonzales Park.

On Sunday, the 2002 Chatsworth Holiday Parade begins at 1 p.m., running down Devonshire Street east from Topanga Canyon Boulevard and ending at Mason Park. The parade includes marching bands, floats, classic cars and clowns.

SUV crash sets off small brush fire

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE - A half-acre brush fire broke out below the La Canada Flintridge Golf Course about 3:30 p.m. Thursday after an SUV went off the road, authorities said.

Museums to get Warhol grants

Two Southern California museums will soon receive grants from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, it was announced Thursday.

The foundation awarded $70,000 to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and $60,000 to the Museum of Jurassic Technology The Museum of Jurassic Technology is a museum located at 9341 Venice Boulevard, in the Palms district of Los Angeles, California, USA. It has a Culver City address (zip code 90232). It was founded by David and Diana Wilson in 1989.  in Culver City as part of a $1.3 million outlay.

The grants will go toward MOCA's exhibition, ``A Minimal Future? Art as Object 1958-1968,'' and two of the digital films in the Museum of Jurassic Technology's ``Chain of Flowers'' series.

Ex-Stan Lee veep convicted of fraud

An executive for a defunct Internet company named for comic book icon and Spider-Man creator Stan Lee was convicted Thursday of 13 federal charges, for a scheme that cost bankers about $10 million.

A jury convicted Stephen Gordon, a former vice president for Encino- based Stan Lee Media Stan Lee Media (SLM) was an Internet-based creation, production and marketing company that created branded super hero franchises for applications in all media. Its 165 man animation production studio was based in Los Angeles, California from 1998- 2001. , of one count of conspiracy, five counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud and three counts of making false statements.

His brother, former Merrill Lynch financial consultant Jonathan Gordon, was convicted of five counts of wire fraud, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of making false statements for his role in the scheme.
