BRIEFLY HIT-RUN CRASH KILLS ONE IN WINNETKA.


WINNETKA - A woman was killed Friday night after a hit-and-run collision involving three vehicles, authorities said.

The collision was reported to authorities about 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Saticoy Street after a pickup collided with a smaller, four-door vehicle carrying two adults and two children.

A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, authorities said. The driver of the pickup left the scene, but authorities later detained an individual believed to be the driver.

Three of the four occupants in the smaller car - including a male adult, a boy who appeared to be 3 years old and a girl who appeared to be 7 years old - received minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, said Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fourth occupant, a female who appeared to be in her 30s, died at the scene, Wells said.

No one from in the third vehicle involved in the crash appeared to be injured, Wells said.
