LANCASTER - School administrators are inviting parents of students who attend Antelope Valley High School Antelope Valley High School is located in Lancaster, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. It was founded in 1912[1]. It is located in the Mojave Desert.  to a general meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school library.

The meeting will give parents the opportunity to receive information and to ask questions regarding issues related to the school.

Littlerock council to elect officers

LITTLEROCK - The Littlerock Town Council will elect officers for 2001 at its general monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Alpine Grange Hall, 8650 E. Ave. T-8.

LANCASTER - Burt Rutan Elbert Leander "Burt" Rutan (born June 17, 1943 in Estacada, Oregon) is an American aerospace engineer noted for his originality in designing light, strong, unusual-looking, energy-efficient aircraft. , who designed the Voyager plane that made the first nonstop, nonrefueled around-the-world flight, will speak at 3 p.m. Nov. 18 on ``Breakthroughs'' during a presentation at Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties. , 3041 W. Ave. K, in Room 102 of the Student Services Building.

People wanting to attend the presentation can obtain free advance tickets from the college library circulation desk A Library circulation desk or loans desk, usually found near the main entrance of a library, provides check-out and sometimes check-in services to library patrons.

``Burt Rutan is one of the most creative individuals in the aviation industry,'' said Dr. David Newman, a chemistry professor who arranged for Rutan's visit.

Rutan is founder and chief executive officer of Scaled Composites, an aerospace and specialty composites development company in Mojave.

The company has developed more than 30 original aircraft types, including Proteus, a high-altitude aircraft that recently set three new flying records.

Newman expects Rutan's talk to be for general audiences, bridging the topics of chemistry, engineering and aerospace.
