BRIEFLY HEARING TO DISCUSS AHMANSON RANCH.


AGOURA HILLS - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public hearing on the controversial Ahmanson Ranch project at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Agoura Hills-Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Hills Road.

Comments and testimony at the hearing, which is expected to last until 2 p.m., will be considered when the agency decides whether to grant a permit to build the 3,050-home development, which also includes 400,000 square feet of retail and office space.

Local and federal politicians, including Rep. Brad Sherman Bradley J. "Brad" Sherman (born October 24 1954) is an American politician. He has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1997, representing California's At-large congressional district. , D-Woodland Hills, are expected to attend.

``We could have over 1,000 people there,'' said Calabasas Councilwoman Janice Lee, who opposes the project. ``It's going to be what I believe is one of the most important opportunities the community has had to express to a federal agency how important it is that they consider the impacts to our cities.''
