Military schools subject of events

THOUSAND OAKS - Rep. Elton Gallegly, R-Thousand Oaks, will hold open houses this week for students interested in an appointment to a U.S. military academy.

Applicants for appointment to an academy must be between 17 and 22 years old, unmarried, not pregnant and have no legal obligation for support of a child or other dependent. High school juniors are welcomed to preview.

Sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Thousand Oaks High School Thousand Oaks High School is a high school established in 1962 and located in Thousand Oaks, California. It is a California Distinguished School, and offers curriculum at all levels for Thousand Oaks students. The mascot is the lancer.  cafeteria, 2323 Moorpark Road; and 7 p.m. Wednesday at Camarillo Adolfo High School cafeteria, 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd., Camarillo.

 of Moorpark will hold its 19th annual holiday boutique Nov. 1-2.

The boutique will feature 30 booths selling crafts, jewelry, ceramics, religious gifts, baked goods and toys. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Parish Activity Center, 13955 Peach Hill Road.

Santa Claus will be available for photos between 10 a.m. and noon on Sunday, and prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Golf tournament set for Nov. 10

SIMI VALLEY - A golf tournament will be held Nov. 10 at the Wood Ranch Country Club to benefit the Simi Valley Eclipse Soccer Club.

Entry fees are $150 per person or $560 per foursome. Check-in time is 7 a.m.

The Eclipse Soccer Club consists of 15 teams of boys and girls boys and girls
