SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - A gunman robbed a local supermarket of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on foot, police said Tuesday. The man entered the Smart and Final, 1856 Erringer Road, on Monday at 4:30 p.m., brandished a handgun and ordered employees to give him money, officials said. Clerks emptied the cash register and the man fled.

No injuries were reported.
