BRIEFLY GOLF CHARITY HELPS IN-HOME NURSING.

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE - The 12th Annual Hospice hospice, program of humane and supportive care for the terminally ill and their families; the term also applies to a professional facility that provides care to dying patients who can no longer be cared for at home.  Golf Classic, held in April at La Canada Flintridge Country Club, raised more than $62,000 for the Verdugo Nursing Association's Hospice in the Home program.

 are winners in the first annual Governor's Reading Award Program. Both schools will receive $5,000 cash awards.

Disney Elementary students read more than 665,572 pages and Washington Elementary students read more than 959,620 pages over six months.

A total of $2 million dollars in reading awards will be given to 400 California schools.
