, Pomona, was honored at the fourth annual Native American Outreach Committee Scholarship Luncheon with two scholarships totaling $1,250.

Guerrero, who is of the Northern Arapaho tribe, received a $1,000 Casino Morango scholarship and a $250 award from the Hopland Band of Pomo Pomo, Native Americans of N California, belonging to the Hokan branch of the Hokan-Siouan linguistic stock (see Native American languages). The Pomo were the most southerly Native Americans on the California coast not brought under the mission influence of the  Indians.

GLENDALE - Twenty-two Glendale students were selected as winners of the Glendale Public Library The Glendale Public Library is located in Glendale, California, and serves a diverse community of over 200,000 people. GPL has a total of 6 branches (a 7th branch is slated to open in 2007) in addition to the large Central Library, including the unique Brand Library and Art Center.  Bookmark Contest. The winning bookmark designs will be unveiled and distributed to the public April 8 at the library's National Library Week celebration.

Winners will receive multiple copies of their bookmark and a certificate of recognition.
