BRIEFLY GANG SHOOTING LEAVES ONE DEAD.


PACOIMA - One person was killed and two were wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting at the intersection of Filmore Street and Borden Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Victor Palacios, 18, of North Hollywood and others had congregated in the 12800 block of Filmore when gunmen approached and opened fire, police said. Palacios died at the scene and two others, Gabriel Gutierrez, 20, of Pacoima and Salvador Aguinaga, 21, of San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina

Van Nuys resident commits suicide

WOODLAND HILLS - After throwing his cell phone and wallet at a security guard, a Van Nuys man jumped to his death from the roof of a Woodland Hills hotel Sunday, the Coroner's Office said.

The 30-year-old man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead shortly after 7 a.m.
