 single-season earnings record Friday when Golden Rahy won the $48,000 feature race at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting.

The $28,800 winner's share in the allowance race for 3-year-olds and up raised Frankel's earnings for the year to $17,854,877. The previous record of $17,842,358 was set by D. Wayne Lukas Darrell Wayne Lukas (born September 2, 1935 in Antigo, Wisconsin) is a former educator who became one of the most successful horse trainers in American Thoroughbred horse racing history and a U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee.  in 1988.

Frankel set a single-season record for Grade I stakes victories of 23 earlier in the year.

Also, Doug O'Neill tied the Oak Tree single-season training record of 21 victories set by Bob Baffert Bob Baffert (born January 13, 1953 in Nogales, Arizona) is an American horse owner and trainer. He graduated from the University of Arizona's Racetrack Management Program with a Bachelor of Science degree.  in 1998, and tied by Baffert the following year, when Gentleman Player won the sixth race. O'Neill has seven days to break Baffert's record.
