BRIEFLY FIRE, SMOKE LEAVE BUILDING DAMAGED.


GLENDALE - An early morning fire Wednesday caused an estimated $411,000 in damage to two businesses in a commercial building in Glendale, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the 1000 block of E. Colorado Street at 12:37 a.m. doused the flames in about 15 minutes, and no one was hurt, said Battalion battalion

Investigators sought to determine the cause of the fire, which apparently began in a rear storage room at The Lux Discount Center. Damage to that business was estimated at $250,000 to the structure and $150,000 to the contents.

Smoke also caused about $11,000 in damage to the adjacent Havana Market, Howard said.
