BRIEFLY FIGHTS KEEP COPS BUSY AT EVENT HALLS.


GLENDALE - Fights broke out at five event halls in Glendale during the Labor Day Labor Day, holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada on the first Monday in September to honor the laborer. Police seek help in identifying man

RESEDA - Los Angeles police on Tuesday sought public help in identifying a man stabbed to death over the weekend, and in finding whoever killed him.

The victim was stabbed in the chest about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of Tunney Avenue in Reseda, according to police. He collapsed on a sidewalk and was pronounced dead at a hospital about 40 minutes later.

The victim was Latino, about 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a pierced stud earring earring, a personal adornment, sometimes an amulet, worn attached to the ear lobe. A 32-year-old woman was in critical condition after a crash that briefly shut down the Ventura Freeway east of Balboa Boulevard in both directions Tuesday evening.
