A state legislative panel announced Tuesday it will conduct an investigative hearing into allegations that a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services internal-affairs office is plagued by backlogs that put children at risk of sexual or physical abuse.

Golf clubhouse funds approved

ENCINO - The Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.  on Tuesday approved a $107,000 payment to complete work on the long-stalled clubhouse at the Woodley Lakes Golf Course in the Sepulveda Basin.

The clubhouse, which will replace the trailers that have been in use for years, has been nearly completed, officials said.

Plans call for the clubhouse to serve not only golfers, but also provide space for weddings, receptions and other events.
