The incident occurred Tuesday after the jet had taxied into an assigned parking spot. The aircraft came to rest on its open main-weapon bay doors, minimizing damage, the Air Force said.

PALMDALE - City streets were blocked off Wednesday after deputies discovered what appeared to be a pipe bomb in a car on Avenue R near Sixth Street East, officials said.

The discovery was made during a routine traffic stop just before 3:30 p.m., officials said.

Deputies blocked off Avenue R from Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  to Fifth Street East and Sixth Street East from Avenue Q-12 to Avenue R-8, awaiting explosives experts to determine whether the object was actually an explosive.
