Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is a leading multinational aerospace manufacturer and advanced technology company formed in 1995 by the merger of Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta.
 Aeronautics Co.-Palmdale employee Thomas Koonce was elected a Society of Allied Weight Engineers fellow at the society's 62nd annual International Conference.

The honor recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the mass properties engineering field or have strongly supported the society on a sustained basis, the organization said.

Seminar targets business owners

PALMDALE - Business owners can attend a burglary prevention and robbery protocol seminar at 6:30 p.m. on March 30 at the Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway.

The seminar will cover physical security measures, cash-control issues, information sharing, employee training and what to do during and after a robbery.

Auditors change at Lancaster firm

LANCASTER - Rexhall Industries Inc. announced that Beckman Kirkland & Whitney resigned as Rexhall's independent accountants because the firm's application with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (or PCAOB) (sometimes called "Peekaboo") is a private-sector, non-profit corporation created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, a 2002 United States federal law, to oversee the auditors of public companies.  was still pending approval.

Until such approval, BKW is unable to issue audit reports on the financial statements of public companies subject to Securities and Exchange Commission regulations.

Rexhall engaged Cacciamatta Accountancy Corporation of Irvine as its new auditors.

Art gallery ready for launch in April

LANCASTER - A new venue for artists opens April 3 with a reception.

California City watercolorist Isabelle Davati and Lancaster photographer Marilyn Dalrymple will be featured in the inaugural show at art gallery, 1008 E. Ave. K.

A reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 3 at the gallery, which is in the Springfield Plaza shopping center. The gallery is sponsored by a local property management company.

Davati started her art career in 1976 as a fashion and textile designer. Her career has included work as a commentary page cartoonist for the New York City New York City: see New York, city.

She is the owner of Red Rose Fine Photography.
