Petr Sykora, a 20-goal scorer the past four seasons, was among four players acquired by the Mighty Ducks on Saturday night in a seven-player trade with the New Jersey Devils The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Devils have won the Stanley Cup three times, in 1995, 2000, and 2003.  for defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky and forwards Jeff Friesen and Maxim Balmochnykn.

The Mighty Ducks also acquired forward Igor Pohanka, defenseman Mike Commodore and goaltender J.F. Damphousse.
