BRIEFLY DRIVEWAY INCIDENT LEAVES BOY DEAD.

CASTAIC - A 4-year-old boy was struck and killed Sunday morning on Gibraltar Place as his father moved a boat trailer from his home's driveway to the street, officials said.

About 11 a.m. Kyle Monroe Alexus was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with head and chest injuries, California Highway Patrol officials said. He was pronounced dead about an hour later.

A preliminary investigation found that Kyle was playing in the speed boat when his father began to move it. The boy toppled out of the boat and was run over by the trailer's wheels, CHP officers said.

The boy's father, whose name was not released, did not know his son was inside the boat when he began to move the truck and trailer, Krusey said.
