Vy Dang, 30, disappeared in the lake about noon Saturday near the dam. He had been swimming with friends and family members when he jumped into the water from a boat, according to sheriff's Capt. Paul Anderson.

When Dang failed to surface, those on the boat summoned help. Rangers and other boaters joined in the search.

Driver faces felony in jaywalker's death

Four arrested after shots fired at party

MOORPARK - Three residents face arraignment today, and a fourth is scheduled for arraignment next week, after being arrested in connection with shots fired toward a crowd at a weekend party.

Jose Mesa, 21, Daniel Barron, 20, Antonio Rodriguez, 20, and Alfredo Rodriguez, 19, were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Assault with a Deadly Weapon is the term used to describe the act of threatening to harm one or more people by using a weapon (usually a firearm). Here, assault must be differentiated from battery as they are often confused. Assault is threatening to use force.  and conspiracy.

Mesa was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail; Antonio Rodriguez and Alfredo Rodriguez were being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. Barron was released Saturday after posting $25,000 bail and is slated for arraignment Monday.

Simi Valley police were called to the 300 block of Esther Avenue about 12:10 a.m. Saturday concerning a reported fight.

According to police, a partygoer who had been asked to leave the party returned later with some friends and fought with the other partygoers.

They left but returned again, vandalizing cars parked near the party. When the partygoers came outside, the four men fled, with several shots being fired by someone in their car toward people who had been attending the party, police said.
