After getting the occupants out of the house and searching a guest house on the property, deputies concluded that no escape had occurred.

Deputies said the California State Prison-Los Angeles County officer saw a man in a jumpsuit jump from behind bushes and run into a nearby home in the 4200 block of West Avenue N. The officer thought the man was wearing an prison jumpsuit.

But deputies said the person the officer saw was actually a resident of the home and had been working in his own yard.

Missing Palmdale woman returns

PALMDALE - A Palmdale woman who was reported missing five days ago returned home Thursday morning, officials said.

No explanation for Karen Jackson's disappearance was given.

A neighbor who read a newspaper article Thursday about Jackson's disappearance saw the woman's car in the driveway and called investigators, officials said.
