Woman scares off man with knife

SIMI VALLEY - A man armed with a knife tried to get into a woman's car in a Simi Valley parking lot, but ran away when the woman locked her door, authorities said Wednesday.

The man approached the 27-year-old Newbury Park woman about 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Madera Road and told her to move over, Simi Valley police Sgt. Ron Lompart said.
