BRIEFLY CRASH OFF FREEWAY KILLS RESEDA MAN.


CHATSWORTH - A 40-year-old man was killed Tuesday when the pickup truck he was driving rolled over the side of the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway in Chatsworth and tumbled 200 feet down an embankment, authorities said.

The driver, Greg Hoover of Reseda, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck as it tumbled, he said. Paramedics declared Hoover dead at the scene.

Pedestrian killed crossing freeway

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A woman trying to run across the Hollywood Freeway in North Hollywood was hit and killed by a car early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

 will display stolen property Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., following the arrest of suspects believed to be responsible for up to 100 vehicle burglaries in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Malibu, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.

Anyone victimized by vehicle burglars between July 1 and Oct. 23 is encouraged to bring identification and review the merchandise on display at the station, 27050 West Agoura Road, Calabasas.

 motorcycle officer is facing a possible sentence of up to six years in state prison for driving drunk and causing an off-duty crash that injured his passenger, a prosecutor said Tuesday.

Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Barry A. Taylor found John Joseph Leonard, 61, guilty Monday of two counts of driving under the influence causing injury after a two-day court trial, said Deputy District Attorney Richard F. Walmark.

The charges stemmed from a crash last Jan. 29 in the Van Nuys area, in which Leonard's car smashed into a metal post and tree, the prosecutor said.
