BRIEFLY CLASSIC CAR SHOW TO HELP SAFE RIDES.


CANYON COUNTRY - Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Safe Rides will benefit from a classic car show tonight at Route 66 Classic Grill. The evening will feature a display of more than 100 pre-1974 cars and entertainment by The Delaires, a '50s style rock 'n' roll rock 'n' roll: see rock music.  band.

Safe Rides is a local high school group that promotes safe driving among peers and provides safe transportation to high school students who find themselves in high-risk situations as a result of emotional issues, alcohol or drug use.

Trophies will be awarded in 20 categories. Registration will begin at 3 p.m., with presentation at 8:30 p.m. All money raised will go directly to Safe Rides.

Charity classic car shows are scheduled regularly through October and have raised more than $10,000 for local causes. Route 66 Classic Grill is at 18730 Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Ex-owners to buy AM radio station

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Local news and sports will return to the airwaves when radio station 1220-AM changes from KIIS-AM to a Santa Clarita station at the end of the summer.

Former owners Carl and Jeri Goldman are in negotiations to buy back the station from media giant Clear Channel Communications Not to be confused with clear channel radio stations, which are AM radio stations with certain technical parameters.
Clear Channel Communications (NYSE: CCU) is a media conglomerate company based in the United States.
. The couple expects the takeover to be complete sometime during the summer and will begin operations on Sept. 1.

Carl Goldman said features such as high school sports, student of the month, talk shows and local remotes will return, along with several key staffers. The station also will have live morning and evening drive-time jocks, who will be announced soon.

Senior center aids annual food drive

SANTA CLARITA - The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center will assist the U.S. Postal Service The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) processes and delivers mail to individuals and businesses within the United States. The service seeks to improve its performance through the development of efficient mail-handling systems and operates its own planning and engineering programs.  and the letter carriers in Canyon Country during their annual food drive today.

Letter carriers across the country will be collecting food today for local food banks. Items collected in Santa Clarita will benefit the Santa Clarita Food Pantry, which serves 2,000 clients a month. Last year, more than 40,000 pounds of food were collected for the SCV SCV Santa Clarita Valley (California)
